VALENTINE'S DAY

We always celebrate Valentine's Day by making our own valentines for our friends.

We do not address the valentines. (Do not put our friend's names on the cards.)

We do SIGN the valentines. Older children certainly can do this, and younger children can just make their "mark."

(Or mom or dad can sign the cards for them!)

We NEVER bring "store-bought" valentines--only homemade!!!!!!

SHOULD MOM OR DAD STAY UP ALL NIGHT MAKING THE CARDS VERY FANCY FOR US? NO!

The best valentines we have ever seen have been the simplest, child-made creations. (They may look crude to you,

but the children love them.) Examples have been small pieces of paper with a scribble on them, or a sticker, or something odd

pasted to them, or taped on in a crinkly way. Give your child markers or crayons or pieces of doily or stickers (no cartoons please),

or small shiny objects, etc. They will be special because they are made by hand with love.

This year your child needs to bring cards for 23 friends and 3 teachers.

Just put them in a ziploc bag and send to school on Valentine's Day!

REMEMBER: HAND-MADE CARDS. WE DO NOT SUPPORT MARKETING COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS TO CHILDREN.
