We had to postpone our Language Workshop and our Family Conferences for one week because of this very yucky virus we all seem to passing back and forth. Some people have been sick for a long time, get better, get sick again. Very yucky stuff this germ! So, not much website this week, but maybe a few snippets here and there... Townes has been playing very interesting jazz and blues riffs with the glasses of water work... Ben was voted good citizen two whole days in a row! Laci was voted "good choice maker." She chooses her materials. She is polite, and does not bother anyone. Grace was chosen as being "kind" and Annie received kudos for hard work. A few shots...
TODAY WAS GARETT'S BIRTHDAY!!!
GARETT'S daddy made a really good story of Garett. We like it! Especially the part about Garett whistling at eight months old. Michael said that whenever he changed Garett's diaper he would whistle a little tune. One day Garett just whistled back at his daddy! That's funny! Garett is a good noseblower, a good eater who leans over his bowl so well, and even asks to be excused when finished! He likes for daddy to chase and "get him." Garett loves his big brother Daley, his big sister Grace and his mom and dad.
We enjoyed a birthday snack of orange-cranberry bread. Deeeee-lish! Even Sputty did tricks for some! Thank you O'Brien Family! HAPPY BIRTHDAY,GARETT! WE LOVE YOU! SHOW AND TELL FRIDAY NOVEMBER 10 We had a very nice time of sharing this morning. Tigerlilly brought a very fancy box from China. Benjamin brought a ukelele from Hawaii. That's funny, because a short time ago Ben C. brought a ukelele. Gracie talked about her stuffed rabbit named "Ears" that she loves. Then a BIG show and tell. Ben and Annie brought: Their Dad! They had cut and pasted a poster with images of things their dad has liked to do since he was a boy. He can scuba dive. He is an attorney at a court house! We have a model of a court house on our community shelf! The best part was saved for last. On the back of the poster was a squirrel. (An albino squirrel actually.) We had to ask, "Why is there a picture of a squirrel on your dad's poster???" Well, Dan showed us why. It seems that when he was a boy, his grandfather taught him how to "call" squirrels by imitating them. He is VERY good at that! He puffs out a cheek, and holds his hand lightly against it and the air leaks out and makes honest-to-goodness, totally authentic squirrel noises. Dan says sometimes squirrels come when he does that!!! Thanks for the great show and tell everyone!
Dan calling squirrels. (Tommy posing as well!)
Tommy joined our circle of friends, and we sang a song for him. Can you read this phonetic writing by Ben? (It is a musical instrument.)
